Congratulations on your marriage! And furniture, toaster, and everything else.

I concur with Andi on the furniture. I am kicking myself for not picking up some cool stuff while I was in Korea (mink blankets and other bootleg stuff aside).

I know I've said this before, but I'm saying it again. When you get a chance you should really check out some nice carved teakwood furniture. You'll probably have to do it on one of your excursions outside of the Tokyo area to get a better deal. When my parents were first married and stationed on Okinawa they got several really gorgeous items. These pieces have been around since before I was born, so they are well over a quarter of a century old, and they still look great despite 7 military moves (1 overseas) and 3 civilian moves. And since my dad was only E5 or E6 at the time I'm guessing they couldn't have been terribly expensive. At least get a set of carved teak Shi-Shi lions so I'll stop bugging you about it. ;-)
