I like Prime Rib. It is probably my favorite cut of meat (though a Rib Eye will do nicely). The Officers club here has a Prime Rib dinner every Tuesday. Sharron decided that we should go last night.
Sharron had also decided that we should stop by the Pet Adoption Center to see if they have any dogs up for adoption, so we did that on the way to dinner. As it turns out, they had 1 dog available. Her name is Matty and she’s a 4-year old Schnauzer. We asked what the process is for adopting, and they said that it costs $50 and we’d have to fill out some forms. Sharron and I decided to think about it and then the staff told us that we could take her home with us for a 7-day trial period. I knew at this point that the dog would be coming home with us. :-)
Sharron decided that she wanted to take her home with us, and that the best way to do that would be to skip dinner at the Officers Club and just take the dog home. We filled out a little paperwork and then stopped off at a couple places to pick up dog supplies. We got home at about 8pm (still no dinner) and let Matty explore the house. She is a very well behaved dog and full of fun and energy. We think maybe that spending the last 3 weeks in the kennel has something to do with all her energy, but we’ll see. She has a lot of training and has obeyed all the commands I’ve given her so far. She was able to calm down and even sleep in bed with us all night. That’s pretty well behaved to me.
I’ll be sure to post a picture when I get a chance. :-)
So, did you ever get some dinner, or did you have to munch on milkbones that evening? ;-)
