After about 19 days in the states, I’m back home. Hooray! I mean, I love the states, but home is where it’s great to be. Sharron and Parker are here and that’s where I want to be. :-)
I had started writing a post from Narita airport on my way out of Japan, but I never finished it. Then in the states, I just had no desire to post anything either. It’s weird. I’ve been trying to post more often, even if it’s just something silly. I read through my old old old entries (not on the site) and when I started posting less frequently, it’s just not a really good picture of what my life was like at the time. Posting regularly is a really good way to actually document my life for myself.
So ok, I have to mention the 777 that I flew to the states on. Delta usually gives you a personal TV on international flights. They give you a guide and say what channel will be playing what movie and when. Pretty cool. On this flight there was no guide which was odd. Also, no way to change the channel. Odder. I turned the TV on and discovered a completely on demand video system. Sooooooo Coooool! I spent the entire flight watching movies and TV and playing fun flash games like Chainz 2. THAT is the way to fly! :-)
I was first in Montgomery from Saturday, 2 June until Sunday, 10 June. The class was not bad at all and in the evenings I was able to eat at my favorite restaurants, hang out with friends and family. It was nice.
My next stop was DC. I went to 2 more classes there. These were not as good, but did certify that I know what I’m talking about. Perhaps if I went in to them without as much knowledge as I have I would have enjoyed them more. As it was, networking with the people there was the best part of it.
Finally, I headed to Tacoma to spend a few days with my parents and sister. Ah Tacoma. It’s still nice. Had a good time there and got to spend fathers day with my dad so that’s nice.
Overall, the best part of the trip was all the shopping I did. Wow. I don’t think I’ve spent that much time out shopping ever! I bought all kinds of things and didn’t buy even more! :-)
So now it’s back to work to try and figure out what I missed while I was gone. Yippee!
