Today is the 3rd day in a row that I’ve flown on an airplane. I am currently in Puerto Rico for an interview tomorrow. The job isn’t here, but part of what I’d be working with is, so the company thought it’d be fun to bring us out here for our interviews. Tuesday I fly back to Montgomery and then Wednesday/Thursday I’m flying back to Japan. That’s 5 our of 6 days in a row where I’m on an airplane. Ick. The good news is that I’ve racked up SO many frequent flyer miles that I’ve begun to get upgraded to first class for free. My flight home from CT yesterday was 1st class and my flight to PR today was also. :-)
The job I’m interviewing for here is a financial management job. Pretty crazy as I wasn’t even close to majoring in financial management, nor did I do it in the Air Force. Again though, this company figures I can figure the job out and is really looking for leadership. What they’d like me to do is ground myself in the company and then move up in the management ranks. It’s a pretty cool idea really and I never would have thought to apply my time in the military in such a way.
Sharron is back in Japan now. I assume our friends Nick and Christy arrived for their visit, but I’ve not been able to reach anybody there yet. It really sucks to be here when they are there to see me, but life is like that sometimes. The really crazy thing is that I could stay in the US for another 10 days and go on at least 2 more interviews. Not sure how it’s all going to pan out yet, but I’ll keep the blog updated with my wherabouts and what our future looks like. Here’s wishing me luck!
